Was She Trying to Tell Me Something?

Back some 20 plus years ago, my mother bought these books for me. I supposed that it was because I showed an interest in Tarot cards and fortune telling. Now as I re-examine the events of my life and receiving these books from my mother, I wonder if she was grooming me for something greater. I have written in previous posts where I suspect that my mom had clairvoyant abilities. We never talked about it at great lengths. The conversation was more of a matter of fact that she experienced a certain event. It certainly wasn't a profound moment where she passed down a family heirloom of sorts. Although the thoughts swimming through my head right now, would suggest that it was a subconscious grooming. Even though she had a Christian upbringing, she was very open and interested in fortune telling and psychic readings.

It's rather interesting that I found these books today because I was searching for the palm reading one last week and couldn't find it. I don't remember moving them to the book shelf near my bed. I walk by it everyday and have not seen the books until today. I wonder if my mom was attempting to give me a message.

Active Spirits

Tuesday morning, I woke up at 4 am to the sound of what I initially thought was one of the kids' toys. My first thought was that my son was up playing. But he usually comes to our room when he wakes in the middle of the night. So I got up to investigate and discovered that Daniel Tiger was talking and singing on my daughter's laptop as she didn't shut everything down properly. But the computer was silent all evening and night. Which led me to believe that spirit was trying to get my attention. Even though events like this fascinate me, I was very annoyed as I could not fall back to sleep and I was rather tired at work that day.

Wednesday, my husband was telling me that a spirit portrayed itself to him via an odor of a Depends (adult diaper). As he was describing how disgusting this was, I had to roll my eyes and say "been there, done that". I am, after all, a nurse. I chose to be nice and mention that I have horror stories but not give him the gruesome details.

For those of you who aren't aware, Tuesday, August 18, 2020 was a black new moon. During this rare moon phase, the moon's energy is enhanced and the spirit world is more active. Well we certainly exoerienced that. I also had a rough time dealing with my shadow self. Some of my insecurities came to light and annoyed the hell out of me (and probably the few unfortunate souls who listened to me agonize over them).

I hope you had a better experience with this black moon and thank you for reading my rant. - Gypsy Cat

A New Project

A little over a week ago I got several new Instagram followers. But one of them runs a website with witchy information. I decided to follow him back. Earlier this week, he posted that his team was lookong for writers. I felt really good about the opportunity and applied to become a writer. After the interview, I was challenged to write 5,000 words on any witchy topic of my choice. I figured this was something I could accomplish. So I decided to start writing about the phases of the moon and how to schedule magickal workings. A book club I'm in is reading a book on this very subject. So I thought it would be good as the information is fresh in my mind.

I got between 300 and 500 words and then began experiencing an unknown (at this time) ailment. So I've put writing on the back burner. Last night I went back to it and realized that I just wasn't feeling the topic.  I changed my topic to methods of divination. Within one hour, I had over 1,000 words and I have plenty more to say.

Today, I decided to ask the cards if I should pursue the writing gig. The answer is pictured above. Basically they are saying that I should work my craft, stand in my power, and go for it!

I'm a bit nervous that I will have gone through the ups and downs of writing and will be turned down. I won't be heart broken to not have this extra work. But, my ego will be let down by the rejection. This is something that I am still working on within myself.
