Signs and a Visit from Spirit

Yesterday morning I received a notification from Youtube music for a new Willie Nelson song. At the time, I blew it off and said, "Why did I get this notification? I don't like Willie Nelson!" I then went on with my day. For dinner, we ordered Chinese carryout. I sat in the car while my husband went in to pick up the food. For that quick moment, I cleared my mind and felt my mom with me saying "Happy Birthday!" I immediately started crying and was comforted that she was there, albeit a day early.
After dinner, my husband and I were driving to pick our kids up from his sister's house. It was on that drive that the event from the morning dawned on me. It is true that I do not particularly listen to Willie Nelson, but my mom sure did in life! So it was then that I realized that the Youtube Music notification was in fact a sign from my mom that she was with me.

Thank you Mom for visiting me!

Tarot Reading 10/30/20

It is time to make plans and look toward the future. Then changes will come. They will destroy old habits or ways of thinking. After things change, hopefully for the better, it is a time of celebration.

Change is Eminent

These three cards describe my life events in the past couple of weeks. Last week was awful at work! I experienced several uncomfortable emotions and even briefly thought about changing jobs. I really love my job so the thought of leaving it was in defeat. Then on Thursday, I found out that my placement may no longer be funded. I immediately became content with the idea that I may have to change jobs. I've been thinking about starting my own business anyway. I will just have to be more creative with the pandemic we are experiencing. For now I will continue enjoying my job while I manifest what I will need.

The Generosity of the Universe

Since the pandemic lockdown in April, my dentist's office had not charged me anything. So I have been worried about incoming bills. In addition, I have been experiencing mystery pain. The tests performed to investigate this pain are quite expensive, as my health insurance is not the best. After the most recent conversation with my sister on the law of attraction, I decided to stop worrying about the incoming bills. I decided that I will deal with them as they come.

Now that my mind is in a more positive space, the universe has been very generous in finding me money. This week I had an opportunity to work 4 hours of overtime, which pays time and a half. Plus Monday was a holiday, which also pays time and a half, and I worked 10 hours. Then my supervisor asked me if I could make a quick visit after work on Monday. Quick visits usually pay $50, but since it was a holiday and I was helping my supervisor, she authorized time and a half on top of the $50. When I went to the dentist yesterday, I asked for the balance of my account. The total amount that I owed was $300 to $400 less than I expected!

Out of the blue yesterday, a friend texted me offering some watermelon from their garden. So not only did the universe ensure financial abundance, but it found a way to give us lots of watermelon. 😊

I should have just trusted in the universe. It ALWAYS ensures that I have the money I need. I, first, noticed this phenomenon when my ex-husband annually wanted new vehicles and we had to come up with money for sales taxes. This would have been impossible with all of the other expenses we had and the fact that he frequented the local casino. However when the sales taxes came due, I seemed to find extra money in my checking account for them.

I hope my good fortune helps you find ways to trust in the generosity of the universe too! Thank you for reading what I write! - Gypsy Cat

Was She Trying to Tell Me Something?

Back some 20 plus years ago, my mother bought these books for me. I supposed that it was because I showed an interest in Tarot cards and fortune telling. Now as I re-examine the events of my life and receiving these books from my mother, I wonder if she was grooming me for something greater. I have written in previous posts where I suspect that my mom had clairvoyant abilities. We never talked about it at great lengths. The conversation was more of a matter of fact that she experienced a certain event. It certainly wasn't a profound moment where she passed down a family heirloom of sorts. Although the thoughts swimming through my head right now, would suggest that it was a subconscious grooming. Even though she had a Christian upbringing, she was very open and interested in fortune telling and psychic readings.

It's rather interesting that I found these books today because I was searching for the palm reading one last week and couldn't find it. I don't remember moving them to the book shelf near my bed. I walk by it everyday and have not seen the books until today. I wonder if my mom was attempting to give me a message.

Active Spirits

Tuesday morning, I woke up at 4 am to the sound of what I initially thought was one of the kids' toys. My first thought was that my son was up playing. But he usually comes to our room when he wakes in the middle of the night. So I got up to investigate and discovered that Daniel Tiger was talking and singing on my daughter's laptop as she didn't shut everything down properly. But the computer was silent all evening and night. Which led me to believe that spirit was trying to get my attention. Even though events like this fascinate me, I was very annoyed as I could not fall back to sleep and I was rather tired at work that day.

Wednesday, my husband was telling me that a spirit portrayed itself to him via an odor of a Depends (adult diaper). As he was describing how disgusting this was, I had to roll my eyes and say "been there, done that". I am, after all, a nurse. I chose to be nice and mention that I have horror stories but not give him the gruesome details.

For those of you who aren't aware, Tuesday, August 18, 2020 was a black new moon. During this rare moon phase, the moon's energy is enhanced and the spirit world is more active. Well we certainly exoerienced that. I also had a rough time dealing with my shadow self. Some of my insecurities came to light and annoyed the hell out of me (and probably the few unfortunate souls who listened to me agonize over them).

I hope you had a better experience with this black moon and thank you for reading my rant. - Gypsy Cat

A New Project

A little over a week ago I got several new Instagram followers. But one of them runs a website with witchy information. I decided to follow him back. Earlier this week, he posted that his team was lookong for writers. I felt really good about the opportunity and applied to become a writer. After the interview, I was challenged to write 5,000 words on any witchy topic of my choice. I figured this was something I could accomplish. So I decided to start writing about the phases of the moon and how to schedule magickal workings. A book club I'm in is reading a book on this very subject. So I thought it would be good as the information is fresh in my mind.

I got between 300 and 500 words and then began experiencing an unknown (at this time) ailment. So I've put writing on the back burner. Last night I went back to it and realized that I just wasn't feeling the topic.  I changed my topic to methods of divination. Within one hour, I had over 1,000 words and I have plenty more to say.

Today, I decided to ask the cards if I should pursue the writing gig. The answer is pictured above. Basically they are saying that I should work my craft, stand in my power, and go for it!

I'm a bit nervous that I will have gone through the ups and downs of writing and will be turned down. I won't be heart broken to not have this extra work. But, my ego will be let down by the rejection. This is something that I am still working on within myself.

Gratitude

This morning, my son asked me to play with him. I don't get the opportunity often so, with it being my day off, I jumped at request. We played cars. I had so much fun! I was like a little kid - so amazed at the capabilities of his toy cars. I, immediately, thought back to my childhood where I was not able to have my own toy cars. My mother said that they were boy toys and I didn't need boy toys. So now I get to relive parts of my childhood the way I want to!

After this wonderful bonding experience, I started thinking of other things in which I am grateful. I am still madly in love with my husband after being together for 8 years. I have 2 beautiful, wonderful children. I have a job in which I feel that I can remain safe in doing. Since this pandemic hit, I am working 2 hours of overtime every week. So I have financial abundance flowing to me. I am coming into my power. I am able to be my true self more and more. I have friends and a husband who support and foster my true self. I am still very close to mu sister and our friendship is still going strong.

What are you grateful for today?

Attempt at Communicating with Spirit

With the current pandemic, practicing spirit communication for others, who can validate the spirit coming through, is challenging. I am not comfortable joining a psychic development circle in person and I haven't found any online that seemed legit. The ones I found had invalid websites or didn't feel right.

[A couple of years ago, I tried attending a psychic development circle in my area. I had a bad experience. First, I didn't know what skills I had or wanted to harness. Not to mention, I was paired with someone who was all but deaf. So she talked as I listened. It ended up being everything but figuring out or harnessing my psychic powers.]

I did practice tarot readings online one weekend. I had a wonderful experience, which I covered in an earlier post. But I don't know if utilizing an online platform to communicate with spirit would be beneficial practice for me. I guess it could be via chat or telephone. (The idea in that sentence just popped into my head! Thank you Spirit Guides, most likely Peter!) Well it looks like I have an avenue to practice.

Anyway, the other day I was thinking that I could try to communicate with spirits that I know and ask for validating evidence. Immediately my dad's face came to mind and the song "I love you a bushel and a peck". He sang that song to my sister and me when we were little. I didn't prepare for a session, i.e. get into a trance state or even a quieted mind state. So I just blew it off as an example of how spirit could come to me and validate their presence.

Last night, again I didn't prepare for a communication session, but my dad's face came into my head and "I love you a bushel and a peck" and also another song, "Aba Daba Honeymoon" was being sung into my head. It was my dad's voice as I had heard many times as a child. My eyes began to tear up. So I quieted my mind and scenes of me with my first boyfriend and my ex husband played into my mind. Then nothing. I have no idea what message my dad is trying to relay to me.

Maybe he approves of my current husband? Maybe he doesn't? Maybe he is trying to inspire me to tell my husband to reach out to him for help on a wood working project? [My dad was a carpenter by trade and made wonderful wooden creations.]

This is where I need practice. I need to figure out the symbolism that spirit is using to communicate with me.

Spirit Guide Conversation 7/2/20

I just had an amazingly profound conversation with my guides! I learned that my brother (he passed away 20 years ago) has moved on to a higher existence. I asked if I would meet him again in another life. I was told that he would be a guide. I'm so happy that he has completed the lessons needed to ascend! He is a beautiful soul and I miss him tremendously.

I asked if they planted a thought into my head. My husband and I have been stressing about our daughter starting school this year with the Pandemic. We were leaning toward an online academy. We had already enrolled her in a local school and had not taken actions to change schools. I kept having this feeling/thought that her school would offer an online option. Today I saw on the school website that they are, in fact, offering an online option. My spirit guides confirmed that, yes, they planted the thought of an online option into my mind.

I asked if the Pandemic will end soon. They said yes and no. Things will be different. Fear will leave. I think in our next conversation I will ask for more details on this.

This next answer blew my mind! I asked when we will enter the Age of Aquarius. The response was 20 years. I asked if I would witness it in this life. They said, "Yes, you will be a teacher." WOW!

I Do Have Psychic Abilities!

This week I decided to purchase some courses on Udemy (they were having a sale). One of the courses is "How to Communicate with Spirits: Psychic Mediumship Course". It is taught by 2 British gentlemen. Within the first 2 modules, they gave me the validation that I was looking for. In earlier posts I talked about my experiences with spirit and wondered if I had psychic abilities and what they were. After watching and reading the content provided, I now know that I have experienced subjective and objective clairaudience, clairsentience and subjective clairvoyance. I was so excited!

Subjective clairaudience is hearing spirit in your mind's eye. When you hear spirit in your mind, it can sound like your own voice. This is what I experienced and I thought they were my thoughts. Now I know it was, in fact, spirit talking. Objective clairaudience is when you hear spirit with your physical ear that no one else hears. I have experienced this as well. The first time I heard spirit, a friend was visiting me and we decided to check out a haunted neighborhood. We pulled over near a group of people gathering. My friend was talking to one of the people and I was focused on their conversation. I, then, heard a masculine voice call over to that area. I turned to see where the voice was coming from. There was no body anywhere in that particular location.

The second experience with objective clairaudience that I had my husband and I stayed at a hotel with a haunted reputation. It was to celebrate our anniversary and our daughter was staying with relatives. In the middle of the night, I awoke to screaming in my ear. Since I was asleep, my first thought was that it was my daughter  crying, but she wasn't even there. Once I was awake, I realized that it must have been spirit. I never doubted my objective clairaudience experiences. I just chalked them up to hauntings as opposed to a psychic ability.

With subjective clairvoyance, I see spirit in my mind's eye frequently when I am focused. This is a rather new development when I have been open to these experiences. I knew that they were a psychic ability but didn't realize that they were a form of clairvoyance. I think I have experienced objective clairvoyance once. This is where you see something with your physical eyes but no one else does. I was doing dishes and zoning while looking out the window. Suddenly, I saw a quick flash of a woman walk by the window. I can remember physical features like she had blonde hair in a pixie cut. She was slender and wore a mustard yellow sheath of a dress that was popular in the 1960's.

I am an empath so clairsentience is quite easy for me and something that I have experienced for my entire life. I have always been able to feel other's feelings or the dense energy in a room when people were arguing. Most recently, I felt an ailment of spirit in a haunted building. I walked into an area that used to be an opium den and felt a wave of nausea come over me. Once I left the room, I felt great again. I was not nauseated before entering this room nor was I pregnant or have a condition that would cause physical symptoms of nausea.

Now that I know that I have psychic abilities, I need to trust it more. I feel that I am getting better at it.

Listening

Lately, I have either listened to my spirit guides or recognized instances in which I have listened to my intuition, which could also be my spirit guides. 2 weeks ago I offered online tarot readings. A big "Thank you!" to my friend, Piscesmoonflower, for suggesting that I include hashtags and for tagging friends on my post. I did a total of 5 readings in 2 days. I was very impressed with one of them. I found it very easy to interpret the cards in a meaningful answer to the question. 2 readings were very difficult to decipher a clear answer from the cards. I think in these cases the questions were either too vague or too specific. Too specific? I know, right?! It just proved to me that I had to shift the topic of the question to fit the interpretation of the cards. I had one reading where I had my preconceived opinion on an answer. So, I asked my spirit guides to help me leave that opinion out of interpreting an answer. As it turns out, the cards agreed with what I thought on the matter. Then, the challenge became to relay the answer in a compassionate, polite way, which I did.

The other day I was reading an article in our local newspaper. It was about an Optometrist who was charged with fraud. I had heard about him before but never paid any mind to it. Then while reading the article, I remembered that I considered going to this practice for my eye exam. They are one of the only eye care places that take my insurance. When I looked up the website and looked at pictures of the doctors, I had a nervous feeling and something told me not to go there. I went to a small practice and probably paid more out of pocket for my glasses, but it was a wonderful experience! So after reading this article, I realized that I could have been one of the poor people were taken advantage of.

For as long as I can remember, when I would have these nagging nervous feelings about going somewhere, I would just blow it off as I am crazy. But now I'm beginning to realize that it's legit. My intuition or spirit guides are trying to save me from heartache, inconvenience, what have you. There is this store in town that I would love to go into based on the subject matter (tarot cards, crystals, etc.). But every time I am close by and planning to go in, something tells me that I do not want to go in. Thank goodness there is a liquor store that my husband likes to shop in nearby! It might really annoy him if we drove over there and I didn't go in. LOL Then when talking with a like minded friend, it turns out she has the same experience with this particular store. I'm not sure what the reason is that I won't go into this store. I would like to know probably because my Virgo moon needs to know everything.

Now that I am listening more, does that mean that my psychic abilities are more open? I don't really feel like they are. But then again, what does that feel like? I guess I figured that when I was completely open to my psychic abilities, I would see spirit all around me and hear them talking into my ears, or even have the profound knowledge and wisdom. Maybe I have had this all along and didn't know what it was because I wasn't brought up to foster it. My dad was a practicing Catholic, who rarely spoke of anything paranormal, and my mom was a practicing Baptist/Christian who believed in psychics enough to entertain having a reading. She also reported seeing ghosts, for what seemed to be longer than out of the corner of her eye. I remember a story she told once of seeing my step-dad talking to a cowgirl on their front porch. When she questioned him about it, he denied talking to anyone and that he was out there by himself. The optimistic part of me wants to believe that she saw a ghost/spirt person. However considering that my step-dad had a con artist personality, was he lying? Was he actually hitting on a "cowgirl" and didn't want to admit to my mom that he cheated on her? My first reaction is that my mom actually saw spirit.

I have often wondered if my mom was a natural witch*, but raised Baptist so was never told about it. Therefore, do I have a familial witch line? I find it easy to teach myself almost anything. I don't ever remember having any formal instruction on cooking. Yet, I can cook and bake with the best of them (just ask anyone who as eaten my cakes!). I had basic sewing lessons in home economics class, like this is a needle and thread, this is a sewing machine and here is how you thread it, etc. I took that a step further on my own and have made my own scrubs for work and costumes for myself and my kids. I watched a YouTube video and put up a tile backsplash in our kitchen. All of this is very easy for me and seems like anyone can do it. However when talking with other people, I found out that not everyone has this ability to just do things. So I really wonder if I am a natural witch.

Then, at times, I wonder if my dad was a natural witch, because he was able to just do things. He would sit down at a piano and just play a song without music. He was also a wonderful wood worker. I have several pieces of furniture that he made. Again, he was Catholic and I really don't know much about his family. I only know that his aunt, uncle and cousins were in a Nazi concentration camp. So did his family members have to hide that they were witches to escape Nazi regime? I don't think I'll ever know that answer to that question.

If I am a natural witch, then I guess opening up my psychic abilities would not feel like some profound event. Because I have had them open my entire life. I often feel inferior around others who can more easily see, sense, hear spirit than I can. But everyone has their own unique abilities. I remember my friend coming over to my house and reporting that we have a lot of spirits. Well I don't feel anything in particular when I walk into my house. I sense them more when they are trying to get my attention. I suppose I wouldn't sense anything when I walk into my house because that is where I am most of the time and it is familiar to me. Wow what a silly thing to feel inferior about not sensing spirits in my own house! I would also not sense them because my husband has a pretty serious ward up around it so only benevolent spirits are allowed to enter. Also, they are only around our house so my husband can give them energy to move along. So for the most part they are around only for his services.

*In this sense, Witch means someone who is in tune with the spirit world, nature, and themselves. NOT a devil worshiping, green hag that literally flies on a broomstick or harms anyone or anything.

For those of you that continued down the winding path that this post has become, thank you for reading the inner workings of my mind today - Gypsy Cat

Tarot Reading 6/9/20

Question: "Will we, as a society, overcome the difficulties we are facing?"

The Wheel of Fortune was a jumper card as I began shuffling. Which tells me that what we are experiencing right now will pass. Karma will work with or against us depending on how we choose to proceed. While there is so much strife, we are responding with changing our ways of thinking. I am very sad that it took several tragic events for our society to get to this point. I really thought we were past a lot of antiquated beliefs. I am, however, so proud of how younger generations are stepping up. I was having issues with the labeling of a major social movement. It took reading a friend's post about how her daughter explained it to her for me to fully understand what is behind this movement. I was distressed because it felt to me that one group was being singled out (in a positive way). But after reading the teenager's explanation, I realized that the group that needed it most was getting the attention and that other groups weren't less important.

We need to keep efforts moving ahead with caution and planning for the future humbly, with our hearts. Being overconfident could backfire and work against what we are trying to accomplish. The groundwork we are laying will build a worthy legacy for future generations. We will be setting a precedence and they will look to us as experts. We need to plan wisely and knowledgeably. This ties into an earlier post that I wrote about how Metaphysical mentors are saying we are moving into the Age of Aquarius. I truly believe that younger generations will help us ascend successfully. I have met some wonderful young people who are just filled with love and peace.

Thank you, dear reader, for taking the time to process what I wrote/channeled - Gypsy Cat

Tarot Reading 5/29/20

I asked the cards "what do I need to do with my life?" So it looks like I need to start a new journey. This is something that I have been grappling with for a little over a year now. I have been letting the fear of the unknown stand in my way. However, the cards are telling me to deal with the uncertainty and listen to my dreams. If I do set out on a new journey while listening to my dreams, I will become successful.

I feel that starting this blog is the first step on my new journey. In fact, last night I engaged in a conversation with my spirit guides and they thanked me for listening to them in starting this blog. They told me that it will serve me well.

In an earlier post I talked about needing to bite the bullet and offer readings online. Well, I still have not done so. I am letting fear stop me. I am afraid that I will have too many requests and not enough time with work and family to complete the readings. This is actually kind of funny, now that I think about it, because I am not really reaching many people. I guess what it all comes down to is the fear that I will not be good enough. That is a deep rooted fear from my childhood, which I have been working very hard at overcoming. I am more than good enough!

Sounds like it is affirmation time! 😊

You CAN Manifest What You Want

Growing up manifestation was a concept that was never mentioned. I don't even think my parents knew what it was. In fact, I  had never heard of it until 2009/2010 when a documentary was recommended to me. That documentary is "The Secret". It is predominantly about the Law of Attraction. I thought it was good for motivation but never really took its message to heart.

I let my sister watch the documentary and she ran with its message. She became an avid Abraham Hicks follower and I, now, call her a "Law of Attraction guru". She talked me into making her and myself mind movies. Mind movies are basically a digital vision board. I found pictures online, wrote affirmations and combined the two in a slide show which played to an inspirational song. My song was "Bring Me to Life" by Evanescence.

The mind movie was motivational but I didn't watch it everyday. So the more I listened to the new found revelations of my sister, I realized that I could write affirmations on a Post-It note and place it where I would see it everyday. That is exactly what I did. On a Post-It note I wrote "I am with my soulmate." "I am a wonderful mother." and "I am happy." I placed this Post-It note on my bathroom mirror where I would see and read it multiple times everyday.

It took 2 years of looking at this page of affirmations for them to start coming true. It probably also took 2 years for me to elevate into the proper level of vibration for the manifestation to work. 2 years after I started looking at these affirmations, I was introduced to my husband. I do believe that he is my soulmate. We were married 2 years later, the following year our daughter was born, and the year after that our son was born. I have not been happier!

So last year when I was in a job that I didn't like, I decided to put a Post-It note on my mirror. I don't remember the affirmations on this one but the gist was that I wanted to attract a job that I was passionate about and abundance of money. This time it didn't take long. I found a new job in probably a couple of months. I love my new job and I have the opportunity for overtime quite frequently.

This is proof that when you are in a higher vibration, you can manifest what you want more quickly.

I am truly grateful for what I have manifested as I am for, you, my wonderful readers. - Gypsy Cat

To Be or Not To Be. . . A Meduim

A few months after my mother's death, my sister and I toyed with the idea of seeing a medium. If I remember correctly, both of us received names of different mediums, in the area, from different acquaintances. We ended up having sessions with 2 mediums. The first one gave accurate information most of the time. There were so many spirit people wanting to connect that we didn't know who some of them were. She even provided validating messages for our Aunt. It was a great experience!

The second medium we saw twice. The first time he couldn't get anything and had us reschedule. The second time, it seemed like he was connecting and providing information. But then, all of a sudden, he apologized and told us he couldn't get anything. He did not reschedule and would not accept any money.

Our first medium experience really left an impression on me. It wasn't until I had my experiences with spirit communication, which I wrote about in earlier posts, that I started thinking about becoming a medium myself. I would love to bring comfort to the grieving. Like the first medium was able to do for my sister and me.

Of course this is no surprise to me. I have an innate need and talent for helping others. Hence, why I am currently a nurse. I have been told several times that I am a white light healer. I have also been told that I am on this Earth plane not for my karmic purposes, but to help others. This makes sense to me, because I always find myself wanting to help EVERYONE. I am getting better about not offering help when it would be self-destructive. Case and point: there are several exes out there who owe me substantial amounts of money.

So to fulfill my desire to relay messages from deceased loved ones, I have engaged with a psychic mentor and taken Metaphysical and Spirit Communication classes. I am also reading any books that resonate with me on the subject. I am meditating a lot more. Heck, I've even started this blog to become more comfortable with divination and to get myself out there.

Now I just need the practice. Normally, I would just reach out to my friends and do readings for them. Actually, I could still do that. Just because there is a pandemic and I am one of those paranoid people that is avoiding unnecessary social settings, does not mean I could not provide readings via video chat software or email. The issue with doing that is I don't have many friends that know about this side of me. (Ok so I am an introverted empath with social anxiety and really don't have many close friends period.)

I guess I need to bite the bullet and offer readings on my Instagram feed and Facebook page. I have been hesitant to do this, because I am afraid with working full time and being a mother and wife that I would not have time to provide readings in a timely manner. How will I know whether time is a problem, if I do not try?

I just provided a solution to my own problem. LOL I have always been good at giving advice. I have often been told that I am "wise beyond my years". So that has me wondering if I have been channeling the advice for years now and not been aware of it. . . Interesting.

My First Smudging

I have been fascinated by the paranormal for over 30 years. In that time, I have read several books, seen hundreds of television shows, and taken a few classes on the subject of spirit, ghosts, and energy. Through all of this information, one thing I have learned is to rid yourself of negative energy, you smudge yourself and your home. Well in all of these years, I have not done so yet as I have not felt the need. My home has a wonderful energetic barrier set in place by the wards that my husband put up. (He insists on certain terms in order for spirits to enter our home and take advantage of his services.) Also, I have never really liked the smell of burning sage. Two years ago, a friend gave me a smudge stick that consisted of sage and lavender as a gift. I had not tried burning it because I wanted a seashell and feather to ritualistically do it properly. So for my birthday last year, I asked my sister for a smudge kit and she gave it to me 😊

Recently, I have noticed a pattern with my daughter in particular, but really with both kids. They complain of having bad dreams. Like I said I noticed it more with my daughter. Every morning we ask our kids how they slept. My son usually just says, "good" (he's 3). But my 5 year-old, will say either good or bad and then proceed to tell us how many good or bad dreams she had. Her most common response is, "I had 5 bad dreams". My husband has tried explaining to her to face her bad dreams and they will go away. However, I have not seen that this has worked yet. So the other day, I remembered that I had a smudge kit and, more importantly, a smudge stick with lavender in it (lavender is my favorite scent). I pulled out all of the items and read the literature that came with the lavender/sage smudge stick. It said that this particular stick was good for removing bad dreams. It even came with an amethyst stone to place under your pillow to aide it having good dreams. Well I have always been drawn to amethyst as it is my favorite color, purple, and have lots of little stones. So I placed one of my smaller stones under her pillow and lit the lavender/sage stick. I came up with a litany to say and waving the feather to dispurse the smoke throughout her room, chanted and ensured to get smoke in every corner of both children's rooms.

The next morning, I asked my daughter how she slept. I was expecting to hear that she had the best dreams. No such luck. She, again, informed me that she had bad dreams. As I usually do, I asked her what they were about and tried to comfort her. So later that evening, I tried smudging their rooms again. Only this time, I asked my daughter to help me. I instructed her to say the chants with me and we both went around both rooms chanting as I waved the smoke in all of the corners with the feather.

The next morning, again, I asked my daughter how she slept. I finally got the response I was hoping for!!! She informed me that she "did not have any bad dreams!" I figured it out! She needed to set the intention to remove her bad dreams! So when she starts complaining about bad dreams again, we will get the smudge kit out and chant together.

Tarot Reading 5/11/20

As I shared in my "Mother's Day 2020" post, I had to make a rather difficult decision. So I asked the cards for confirmation that I chose the correct course of action. I asked "Am I making the right decisions?"

Interpretation: I am awakening to my inner guidance/spirit guides. After weighing my options and focusing my attention, I need to trust that guidance is providing me with the best wisdom.

It is great to receive validation from divination! I knew by my gut feeling that I had chosen the correct path.

Mother's Day 2020

This is "The Lady" card from the Druid Craft tarot deck. It is equivalent to "The Empress".

So here it is Mother's day. I have been celebrating it as a mother for 5 years now. I have not celebrated with my own mother in 9 years as she is in spirit now. Today I have to work so I did not get to sleep in. In fact, I was not even allowed to sleep until my alarm went off as my daughter woke me up because she was hungry. So as a mom, I got up and made breakfast, which I do 99% of all mornings. The "breakfast in bed" fantasy did not happen this year. However, I got to spend time with my family longer than I normally do before work and my daughter made me a card and a bookmark.

This may seem like a random post. But it comes in a time where I feel I am truly listening to my intuition or inner guidance. With a pandemic underway and everything filled with uncertainty, I had to make a very difficult decision between keeping my family safe or letting my daughter attend dance class in person. Even though the teacher has plans for safety measures, the more I thought about my daughter attending class and participating in a recital (scheduled for the end of June) the more I felt anxious and I had knots in my stomach. I took this as a sign from a higher guidance that I should not send my daughter to dance class. It was such a strong feeling! I find that I am paying attention to my intuition, or gut feeling, more and more lately.

I hope that all mothers reading this post felt as special and wonderful as you are!

Wands Vs. Swords

Am I the only one who gets the suits of wands and swords confused?

I think I am finally starting to remember that wands are associated with the element of fire and that swords are associated with air. For the longest time, I wanted to associate swords with fire and wands with air. This is probably because you wave wands in the air. Of course now that I have the Aracanum deck, it is fairly obvious which suit represents which element.

Now that I have that worked out in my mind, I have a hard time figuring out the aspects of each suit. I know that swords being associated with air represent anything relating to thoughts. However, I am still having a hard time figuring out what wands represent. Since they are associated with fire, do they represent passion? (One moment while I consult my many tarot meanings books. LOL)

So, yes wands represent passion. They will address topics/endeavors that you are passionate about and should pursue. They can also symbolize the kind of passion connected to sexuality. (I had a hard time deciphering an answer that I liked from my many sources. So some of this answer is channeled from my spirit guides.)

I am open to considerate/polite suggestions if my interpretations do not align with yours.

Alice

I started to write this in my previous post and decided that it deserved to be its own separate post.

My husband is a medium of sorts. He gives spirit the energy needed to move on, cross over, etc. So our house is like a train station for ghosts. Most of the time, I don't even know that they are around. 99% aren't interested in me or our kids. They just want their energy and will move on. At night after our kids are in bed, my husband and I will hear tapping noises. Most living would blow it off as the water heater or refrigerator. But we are sensitive, so we know what the noises really are. I often tease him that he's "being summoned".

Anyway, a couple of years ago, my husband started telling me about this girl spirit named Alice. He related to me how she wants to be our granddaughter someday. But that's all he ever said. Around this time, I really got into meditation. When I would meditate, I would see a little girl about 7 or so with a blonde bob hairdo wearing a white lace dress. After seeing her, I told my husband what I saw and his vision of her was the same!

Last year, I enrolled into a psychic mentorship. One night, I was talking about our little spirit and my mentor asked, "Who's Alice?" I had not mentioned her name as it wasn't relevant at the time. But it was nice for both my husband and I to get validation on our gifts. 😊

My First Time

Ever since I was a child, maybe 8 or 10, I can remember being fascinated with the Paranormal. Like I said, I was probably 8 or 10 and it was Halloween night. We lived in Chicago at the time and drove past Resurrection Cemetery. My parents told my younger sister and me about a ghost who haunts that cemetery. They explained that her name is Resurrection Mary and how she hitchhikes along the street (which I know now from documentaries as Archer Avenue).

Over the next 10-12 years, I developed a love for horror movies and anything paranormal related. As an adult, I became friends with other paranormal enthusiasts. We went on several haunted tours and amatuer investigations. One night, we attended an event that was a séance/investigation. During the séance, I was concentrating on a bell that was positioned in the middle of the table. It was placed there for the ghosts to ring as a sign that they were there. As I was concentrating, (because I really wanted to see and hear this bell ring) I "heard" a thought in my head that wasn't mine. It said, "We don't want to ring your damned bell!" I tried to dismiss it as my thought, but it couldn't have been because I wanted to see spirit move an inanimate object.

A few years later, for fun I took a class at the local community college on all things paranormal. In this class we did an exercise in psychometry. The teacher passed around objects and pictures that, as she revealed after the exercise, belonged to her grandparents. While I looked at the pictures and really concentrated on them, information appeared in my mind. I immediately "thought" that the man in a dress shirt and tie holding a guitar was a doctor. The woman standing on a sidwalk in 1960's attire was a nurse.

After a few minutes, the teacher asked everyone for their impressions. I was last to go and asked if either of them worked in healthcare. She affirmed that they both did and that the information I had received was, in fact, correct. The woman was a nurse and the man was a doctor.

Since these two experiences, I have been able to see spirit in my mind's eye and feel a particular ailment in which one was inflicted.

Tarot Reading 5/1/20

When I started shuffling, the Ace of Wands and 3 of Pentacles jumped out immediately. I then drew the High Priestess to expand a bit more.

A new collaboration is being formed, where everyone will bring their unique gifts to the table. We will all augment our intuitive magick through this collaboration.

This week I joined a book club where we are reading books of a mystical nature. I only know one of the members so this will be an opportunity for me to network with other like-minded folk. From what I have been told already, this could prove to be a very enlightening experience. I am excited!

The Moon

The other day I was writing my work schedule on my wall calendar. (I do this in case my husband wonders when I'm working.) As I was doing so, I noticed that the full moon would occur again in a couple of weeks. I grumbled since we just experienced the new moon and for 2 nights no one in my household got any decent sleep.

For a few years I have noticed a correlation between the nights that I suffer insomnia and a full or new moon. Normally, I have sleepless nights for all 3 nights (the night before, the night of, and the night after) of the particular time on the lunar cycle. When I first connected the dots, I thought of different possibilities like is the light from the full moon shining into my room at night? It doesn't, but that wouldn't explain why I am awake during the nights of the new moon.

For a while, I just thought it sounded cool to blame my insomnia on the "damned full or new moon". Then I realized that if it was possible for the full moon to bring out the crazies or to induce crazy, busy nights at hospitals (totally true from personal experience), then the energy must be affecting my sleep cycle.

Recently, I read an article about this very subject. This article mentioned that if the moon phases affect your sleep, then you are intuitive. I have spent the last 5 days trying to find this article so that I may share it with you. Unfortunately, I was u successful. So if and when I cross paths with it again I will share it.

Meditation Insights

I wanted to share some tips and things I figured out about meditation. So if you are new to meditation and want to give it a try, but don't know how to start. Or if you are a seasoned meditator, maybe some of these insights will help you.

I did not consider mediation until I began having experiences that led me to believe I had some psychic ability. Starting out, I did not know what to do. I thought if I just played Zen/relaxing music and lie in bed quietly, it would all just come to me. Not so much. I would either fall asleep or my mind would be thinking of a million things or I would just get plain bored.

As I branched out and met others with similar interests I became exposed to the idea of guided meditations. Intuitively, I first looked to YouTube to find guided meditation. What a treasure trove! There are meditations to help balance and open up chakras, to meet spirit guides, to access the Akashic records and see past lives, etc. In utilizing guided meditations, I have been able to meet 6 spirit guides and determine which archangel I am to work with. Check it out sometime. Like with anything, not all of the guided meditations will resonate with you. There were definitely some that I did not resonate with.

Meditation tips:
  1. Set the mood - light some candles and/or burn some incense that you like, turn out the lights and sit in a comfortable chair or lie down in bed.
  2. Ensure that you will not be disturbed - from personal experience, there is nothing more infuriating than being in a crucial point in a meditation and having your kid or husband talking to you.
  3. Try using earbuds to listen to the meditation - I find that earbuds help to drown out background noise and I am more focused.
  4. It is OK to fall asleep - I was told once that if I fall asleep I am doing it right. This is because meditation is supposed to relax you and falling asleep is the ultimate indicator that you are relaxed. The disappointing part of falling asleep during a guided meditation is that you miss out consciously on the message(s) you may receive. But the best part is that you can always meditate again another time!
No matter now you meditate, it is very important and will rejuvenate you as well as give you guidance and/or insights to questions on which you have been pondering.

I hope you enjoy your meditation experiences and thank you for taking the time to read this - Gypsy Cat

Back to Normal

I frequently find myself wishing things would go back to normal. But what normal? I certainly don't want to return to a society that treasures greed and materialism above love and kindness and generosity.

Metaphysical teachers and mentors are saying that this is an opportunity for the lightworkers to change the way we as humans treat our Earth and each other. They say that this transition will lead us into the Age of Aquarius. I am in total agreement with them!

I came to this plane of existence as a lightworker. I always felt that I was here to bring peace and to help others. I never saw the need for physical altercations and went out of my way to help people who used me in return. While I have grown to recognize my self worth, I still have this inane desire to help those in need. These days I am very particular on who and in which situations I offer my assistance.

I would really like to live in a society where we can all be kind and help each other unconditionally. This is the reality that I would like to co-create with other lightworkers. Together we could ensure that poverty, hunger, abuse, homelessness, and hate are eradicated!

Who is with me?

Tarot Reading 4/18/20

In this reading, I asked the cards "What do I need to know for this week?"

Interpretation: The time is now! It is time to turn my new ideas into actions. I am awakening to a brighter future and need to let go of past feelings of inadequacy. I am on a journey of growth. So observing all of the details along the way would serve me well.

Lately, I have been trying to think of ways to turn my new found passion into a way of making money. However, I do not yet feel confident enough to do readings for others. When I do, it is a 2 second blurb and I don't feel right about even charging anyone for that.

Today my spirit guides gave me the idea to start this blog. So I hope that along with becoming better at interpreting the cards with out looking each one up, I will also be able to tell a more lengthy "story" for lack of a better word.

Tarot Reading 12/6/19

As the title indicates, I did this spread back in December. I am just so proud of how well I interpreted it that I wanted to share it. 😁

In this spread I just asked the cards for a general reading.

Interpretation: I have been working on my intuitive talents and working toward mastery of them. I'm not quite there yet but am doing well. I will discover new talents and/or confidence. I will be able to celebrate my accomplishments.

I believe that this reading is telling me that soon I will gain the confidence I need to read for others. I am a perfectionist of sorts and believe that I need to give readings on the level that someone with 20+ years of experience would. I know that this is unrealistic for a novice, but I can't shake that feeling of inadequacy.

Hail and Welcome!

Hello.
I am starting this blog as I feel I've received guidance from spirit to do so. I am on a spiritual path and developing my psychic abilities. Along this path, I am becoming more and more familiar with Tarot. So my spirit guides told me to utilize a blog as a platform to help me in interpreting tarot readings. If you choose to read my musings, you will see tarot readings, epiphanies from meditation, and anything else that happens in my life relating to Metaphysics. Right now this is my hobby and I'm hoping to turn it into more one day.

In addition to Tarot, I have participated in past life workshops. In one of these workshops, I saw that I was a "Gypsy Fortuneteller" in a past life. So it was no coincidence when I was contemplating my display name, that "Gypsy" popped into my head.

Also, I want to mention that I, myself, am an oxymoron. I have been trained in science and logic and work as a Registered Nurse. However, the paranormal and ideas of psychic abilities have always fascinated me. Of course working in hospitals, can give anyone open to the experience a belief in the paranormal and hauntings. My experiences are too many and most likely should be in a separate post. 😊
