Lately, I have either listened to my spirit guides or recognized instances in which I have listened to my intuition, which could also be my spirit guides. 2 weeks ago I offered online tarot readings. A big "Thank you!" to my friend, Piscesmoonflower, for suggesting that I include hashtags and for tagging friends on my post. I did a total of 5 readings in 2 days. I was very impressed with one of them. I found it very easy to interpret the cards in a meaningful answer to the question. 2 readings were very difficult to decipher a clear answer from the cards. I think in these cases the questions were either too vague or too specific. Too specific? I know, right?! It just proved to me that I had to shift the topic of the question to fit the interpretation of the cards. I had one reading where I had my preconceived opinion on an answer. So, I asked my spirit guides to help me leave that opinion out of interpreting an answer. As it turns out, the cards agreed with what I thought on the matter. Then, the challenge became to relay the answer in a compassionate, polite way, which I did.
The other day I was reading an article in our local newspaper. It was about an Optometrist who was charged with fraud. I had heard about him before but never paid any mind to it. Then while reading the article, I remembered that I considered going to this practice for my eye exam. They are one of the only eye care places that take my insurance. When I looked up the website and looked at pictures of the doctors, I had a nervous feeling and something told me not to go there. I went to a small practice and probably paid more out of pocket for my glasses, but it was a wonderful experience! So after reading this article, I realized that I could have been one of the poor people were taken advantage of.
For as long as I can remember, when I would have these nagging nervous feelings about going somewhere, I would just blow it off as I am crazy. But now I'm beginning to realize that it's legit. My intuition or spirit guides are trying to save me from heartache, inconvenience, what have you. There is this store in town that I would love to go into based on the subject matter (tarot cards, crystals, etc.). But every time I am close by and planning to go in, something tells me that I do not want to go in. Thank goodness there is a liquor store that my husband likes to shop in nearby! It might really annoy him if we drove over there and I didn't go in. LOL Then when talking with a like minded friend, it turns out she has the same experience with this particular store. I'm not sure what the reason is that I won't go into this store. I would like to know probably because my Virgo moon needs to know everything.
Now that I am listening more, does that mean that my psychic abilities are more open? I don't really feel like they are. But then again, what does that feel like? I guess I figured that when I was completely open to my psychic abilities, I would see spirit all around me and hear them talking into my ears, or even have the profound knowledge and wisdom. Maybe I have had this all along and didn't know what it was because I wasn't brought up to foster it. My dad was a practicing Catholic, who rarely spoke of anything paranormal, and my mom was a practicing Baptist/Christian who believed in psychics enough to entertain having a reading. She also reported seeing ghosts, for what seemed to be longer than out of the corner of her eye. I remember a story she told once of seeing my step-dad talking to a cowgirl on their front porch. When she questioned him about it, he denied talking to anyone and that he was out there by himself. The optimistic part of me wants to believe that she saw a ghost/spirt person. However considering that my step-dad had a con artist personality, was he lying? Was he actually hitting on a "cowgirl" and didn't want to admit to my mom that he cheated on her? My first reaction is that my mom actually saw spirit.
I have often wondered if my mom was a natural witch*, but raised Baptist so was never told about it. Therefore, do I have a familial witch line? I find it easy to teach myself almost anything. I don't ever remember having any formal instruction on cooking. Yet, I can cook and bake with the best of them (just ask anyone who as eaten my cakes!). I had basic sewing lessons in home economics class, like this is a needle and thread, this is a sewing machine and here is how you thread it, etc. I took that a step further on my own and have made my own scrubs for work and costumes for myself and my kids. I watched a YouTube video and put up a tile backsplash in our kitchen. All of this is very easy for me and seems like anyone can do it. However when talking with other people, I found out that not everyone has this ability to just do things. So I really wonder if I am a natural witch.
Then, at times, I wonder if my dad was a natural witch, because he was able to just do things. He would sit down at a piano and just play a song without music. He was also a wonderful wood worker. I have several pieces of furniture that he made. Again, he was Catholic and I really don't know much about his family. I only know that his aunt, uncle and cousins were in a Nazi concentration camp. So did his family members have to hide that they were witches to escape Nazi regime? I don't think I'll ever know that answer to that question.
If I am a natural witch, then I guess opening up my psychic abilities would not feel like some profound event. Because I have had them open my entire life. I often feel inferior around others who can more easily see, sense, hear spirit than I can. But everyone has their own unique abilities. I remember my friend coming over to my house and reporting that we have a lot of spirits. Well I don't feel anything in particular when I walk into my house. I sense them more when they are trying to get my attention. I suppose I wouldn't sense anything when I walk into my house because that is where I am most of the time and it is familiar to me. Wow what a silly thing to feel inferior about not sensing spirits in my own house! I would also not sense them because my husband has a pretty serious ward up around it so only benevolent spirits are allowed to enter. Also, they are only around our house so my husband can give them energy to move along. So for the most part they are around only for his services.
*In this sense, Witch means someone who is in tune with the spirit world, nature, and themselves. NOT a devil worshiping, green hag that literally flies on a broomstick or harms anyone or anything.
