Tarot Reading 5/29/20

I asked the cards "what do I need to do with my life?" So it looks like I need to start a new journey. This is something that I have been grappling with for a little over a year now. I have been letting the fear of the unknown stand in my way. However, the cards are telling me to deal with the uncertainty and listen to my dreams. If I do set out on a new journey while listening to my dreams, I will become successful.

I feel that starting this blog is the first step on my new journey. In fact, last night I engaged in a conversation with my spirit guides and they thanked me for listening to them in starting this blog. They told me that it will serve me well.

In an earlier post I talked about needing to bite the bullet and offer readings online. Well, I still have not done so. I am letting fear stop me. I am afraid that I will have too many requests and not enough time with work and family to complete the readings. This is actually kind of funny, now that I think about it, because I am not really reaching many people. I guess what it all comes down to is the fear that I will not be good enough. That is a deep rooted fear from my childhood, which I have been working very hard at overcoming. I am more than good enough!

Sounds like it is affirmation time! 😊

You CAN Manifest What You Want

Growing up manifestation was a concept that was never mentioned. I don't even think my parents knew what it was. In fact, I  had never heard of it until 2009/2010 when a documentary was recommended to me. That documentary is "The Secret". It is predominantly about the Law of Attraction. I thought it was good for motivation but never really took its message to heart.

I let my sister watch the documentary and she ran with its message. She became an avid Abraham Hicks follower and I, now, call her a "Law of Attraction guru". She talked me into making her and myself mind movies. Mind movies are basically a digital vision board. I found pictures online, wrote affirmations and combined the two in a slide show which played to an inspirational song. My song was "Bring Me to Life" by Evanescence.

The mind movie was motivational but I didn't watch it everyday. So the more I listened to the new found revelations of my sister, I realized that I could write affirmations on a Post-It note and place it where I would see it everyday. That is exactly what I did. On a Post-It note I wrote "I am with my soulmate." "I am a wonderful mother." and "I am happy." I placed this Post-It note on my bathroom mirror where I would see and read it multiple times everyday.

It took 2 years of looking at this page of affirmations for them to start coming true. It probably also took 2 years for me to elevate into the proper level of vibration for the manifestation to work. 2 years after I started looking at these affirmations, I was introduced to my husband. I do believe that he is my soulmate. We were married 2 years later, the following year our daughter was born, and the year after that our son was born. I have not been happier!

So last year when I was in a job that I didn't like, I decided to put a Post-It note on my mirror. I don't remember the affirmations on this one but the gist was that I wanted to attract a job that I was passionate about and abundance of money. This time it didn't take long. I found a new job in probably a couple of months. I love my new job and I have the opportunity for overtime quite frequently.

This is proof that when you are in a higher vibration, you can manifest what you want more quickly.

I am truly grateful for what I have manifested as I am for, you, my wonderful readers. - Gypsy Cat

To Be or Not To Be. . . A Meduim

A few months after my mother's death, my sister and I toyed with the idea of seeing a medium. If I remember correctly, both of us received names of different mediums, in the area, from different acquaintances. We ended up having sessions with 2 mediums. The first one gave accurate information most of the time. There were so many spirit people wanting to connect that we didn't know who some of them were. She even provided validating messages for our Aunt. It was a great experience!

The second medium we saw twice. The first time he couldn't get anything and had us reschedule. The second time, it seemed like he was connecting and providing information. But then, all of a sudden, he apologized and told us he couldn't get anything. He did not reschedule and would not accept any money.

Our first medium experience really left an impression on me. It wasn't until I had my experiences with spirit communication, which I wrote about in earlier posts, that I started thinking about becoming a medium myself. I would love to bring comfort to the grieving. Like the first medium was able to do for my sister and me.

Of course this is no surprise to me. I have an innate need and talent for helping others. Hence, why I am currently a nurse. I have been told several times that I am a white light healer. I have also been told that I am on this Earth plane not for my karmic purposes, but to help others. This makes sense to me, because I always find myself wanting to help EVERYONE. I am getting better about not offering help when it would be self-destructive. Case and point: there are several exes out there who owe me substantial amounts of money.

So to fulfill my desire to relay messages from deceased loved ones, I have engaged with a psychic mentor and taken Metaphysical and Spirit Communication classes. I am also reading any books that resonate with me on the subject. I am meditating a lot more. Heck, I've even started this blog to become more comfortable with divination and to get myself out there.

Now I just need the practice. Normally, I would just reach out to my friends and do readings for them. Actually, I could still do that. Just because there is a pandemic and I am one of those paranoid people that is avoiding unnecessary social settings, does not mean I could not provide readings via video chat software or email. The issue with doing that is I don't have many friends that know about this side of me. (Ok so I am an introverted empath with social anxiety and really don't have many close friends period.)

I guess I need to bite the bullet and offer readings on my Instagram feed and Facebook page. I have been hesitant to do this, because I am afraid with working full time and being a mother and wife that I would not have time to provide readings in a timely manner. How will I know whether time is a problem, if I do not try?

I just provided a solution to my own problem. LOL I have always been good at giving advice. I have often been told that I am "wise beyond my years". So that has me wondering if I have been channeling the advice for years now and not been aware of it. . . Interesting.

My First Smudging

I have been fascinated by the paranormal for over 30 years. In that time, I have read several books, seen hundreds of television shows, and taken a few classes on the subject of spirit, ghosts, and energy. Through all of this information, one thing I have learned is to rid yourself of negative energy, you smudge yourself and your home. Well in all of these years, I have not done so yet as I have not felt the need. My home has a wonderful energetic barrier set in place by the wards that my husband put up. (He insists on certain terms in order for spirits to enter our home and take advantage of his services.) Also, I have never really liked the smell of burning sage. Two years ago, a friend gave me a smudge stick that consisted of sage and lavender as a gift. I had not tried burning it because I wanted a seashell and feather to ritualistically do it properly. So for my birthday last year, I asked my sister for a smudge kit and she gave it to me 😊

Recently, I have noticed a pattern with my daughter in particular, but really with both kids. They complain of having bad dreams. Like I said I noticed it more with my daughter. Every morning we ask our kids how they slept. My son usually just says, "good" (he's 3). But my 5 year-old, will say either good or bad and then proceed to tell us how many good or bad dreams she had. Her most common response is, "I had 5 bad dreams". My husband has tried explaining to her to face her bad dreams and they will go away. However, I have not seen that this has worked yet. So the other day, I remembered that I had a smudge kit and, more importantly, a smudge stick with lavender in it (lavender is my favorite scent). I pulled out all of the items and read the literature that came with the lavender/sage smudge stick. It said that this particular stick was good for removing bad dreams. It even came with an amethyst stone to place under your pillow to aide it having good dreams. Well I have always been drawn to amethyst as it is my favorite color, purple, and have lots of little stones. So I placed one of my smaller stones under her pillow and lit the lavender/sage stick. I came up with a litany to say and waving the feather to dispurse the smoke throughout her room, chanted and ensured to get smoke in every corner of both children's rooms.

The next morning, I asked my daughter how she slept. I was expecting to hear that she had the best dreams. No such luck. She, again, informed me that she had bad dreams. As I usually do, I asked her what they were about and tried to comfort her. So later that evening, I tried smudging their rooms again. Only this time, I asked my daughter to help me. I instructed her to say the chants with me and we both went around both rooms chanting as I waved the smoke in all of the corners with the feather.

The next morning, again, I asked my daughter how she slept. I finally got the response I was hoping for!!! She informed me that she "did not have any bad dreams!" I figured it out! She needed to set the intention to remove her bad dreams! So when she starts complaining about bad dreams again, we will get the smudge kit out and chant together.

Tarot Reading 5/11/20

As I shared in my "Mother's Day 2020" post, I had to make a rather difficult decision. So I asked the cards for confirmation that I chose the correct course of action. I asked "Am I making the right decisions?"

Interpretation: I am awakening to my inner guidance/spirit guides. After weighing my options and focusing my attention, I need to trust that guidance is providing me with the best wisdom.

It is great to receive validation from divination! I knew by my gut feeling that I had chosen the correct path.

Mother's Day 2020

This is "The Lady" card from the Druid Craft tarot deck. It is equivalent to "The Empress".

So here it is Mother's day. I have been celebrating it as a mother for 5 years now. I have not celebrated with my own mother in 9 years as she is in spirit now. Today I have to work so I did not get to sleep in. In fact, I was not even allowed to sleep until my alarm went off as my daughter woke me up because she was hungry. So as a mom, I got up and made breakfast, which I do 99% of all mornings. The "breakfast in bed" fantasy did not happen this year. However, I got to spend time with my family longer than I normally do before work and my daughter made me a card and a bookmark.

This may seem like a random post. But it comes in a time where I feel I am truly listening to my intuition or inner guidance. With a pandemic underway and everything filled with uncertainty, I had to make a very difficult decision between keeping my family safe or letting my daughter attend dance class in person. Even though the teacher has plans for safety measures, the more I thought about my daughter attending class and participating in a recital (scheduled for the end of June) the more I felt anxious and I had knots in my stomach. I took this as a sign from a higher guidance that I should not send my daughter to dance class. It was such a strong feeling! I find that I am paying attention to my intuition, or gut feeling, more and more lately.

I hope that all mothers reading this post felt as special and wonderful as you are!

Wands Vs. Swords

Am I the only one who gets the suits of wands and swords confused?

I think I am finally starting to remember that wands are associated with the element of fire and that swords are associated with air. For the longest time, I wanted to associate swords with fire and wands with air. This is probably because you wave wands in the air. Of course now that I have the Aracanum deck, it is fairly obvious which suit represents which element.

Now that I have that worked out in my mind, I have a hard time figuring out the aspects of each suit. I know that swords being associated with air represent anything relating to thoughts. However, I am still having a hard time figuring out what wands represent. Since they are associated with fire, do they represent passion? (One moment while I consult my many tarot meanings books. LOL)

So, yes wands represent passion. They will address topics/endeavors that you are passionate about and should pursue. They can also symbolize the kind of passion connected to sexuality. (I had a hard time deciphering an answer that I liked from my many sources. So some of this answer is channeled from my spirit guides.)

I am open to considerate/polite suggestions if my interpretations do not align with yours.

Alice

I started to write this in my previous post and decided that it deserved to be its own separate post.

My husband is a medium of sorts. He gives spirit the energy needed to move on, cross over, etc. So our house is like a train station for ghosts. Most of the time, I don't even know that they are around. 99% aren't interested in me or our kids. They just want their energy and will move on. At night after our kids are in bed, my husband and I will hear tapping noises. Most living would blow it off as the water heater or refrigerator. But we are sensitive, so we know what the noises really are. I often tease him that he's "being summoned".

Anyway, a couple of years ago, my husband started telling me about this girl spirit named Alice. He related to me how she wants to be our granddaughter someday. But that's all he ever said. Around this time, I really got into meditation. When I would meditate, I would see a little girl about 7 or so with a blonde bob hairdo wearing a white lace dress. After seeing her, I told my husband what I saw and his vision of her was the same!

Last year, I enrolled into a psychic mentorship. One night, I was talking about our little spirit and my mentor asked, "Who's Alice?" I had not mentioned her name as it wasn't relevant at the time. But it was nice for both my husband and I to get validation on our gifts. 😊

My First Time

Ever since I was a child, maybe 8 or 10, I can remember being fascinated with the Paranormal. Like I said, I was probably 8 or 10 and it was Halloween night. We lived in Chicago at the time and drove past Resurrection Cemetery. My parents told my younger sister and me about a ghost who haunts that cemetery. They explained that her name is Resurrection Mary and how she hitchhikes along the street (which I know now from documentaries as Archer Avenue).

Over the next 10-12 years, I developed a love for horror movies and anything paranormal related. As an adult, I became friends with other paranormal enthusiasts. We went on several haunted tours and amatuer investigations. One night, we attended an event that was a séance/investigation. During the séance, I was concentrating on a bell that was positioned in the middle of the table. It was placed there for the ghosts to ring as a sign that they were there. As I was concentrating, (because I really wanted to see and hear this bell ring) I "heard" a thought in my head that wasn't mine. It said, "We don't want to ring your damned bell!" I tried to dismiss it as my thought, but it couldn't have been because I wanted to see spirit move an inanimate object.

A few years later, for fun I took a class at the local community college on all things paranormal. In this class we did an exercise in psychometry. The teacher passed around objects and pictures that, as she revealed after the exercise, belonged to her grandparents. While I looked at the pictures and really concentrated on them, information appeared in my mind. I immediately "thought" that the man in a dress shirt and tie holding a guitar was a doctor. The woman standing on a sidwalk in 1960's attire was a nurse.

After a few minutes, the teacher asked everyone for their impressions. I was last to go and asked if either of them worked in healthcare. She affirmed that they both did and that the information I had received was, in fact, correct. The woman was a nurse and the man was a doctor.

Since these two experiences, I have been able to see spirit in my mind's eye and feel a particular ailment in which one was inflicted.

Tarot Reading 5/1/20

When I started shuffling, the Ace of Wands and 3 of Pentacles jumped out immediately. I then drew the High Priestess to expand a bit more.

A new collaboration is being formed, where everyone will bring their unique gifts to the table. We will all augment our intuitive magick through this collaboration.

This week I joined a book club where we are reading books of a mystical nature. I only know one of the members so this will be an opportunity for me to network with other like-minded folk. From what I have been told already, this could prove to be a very enlightening experience. I am excited!

The Moon

The other day I was writing my work schedule on my wall calendar. (I do this in case my husband wonders when I'm working.) As I was doing so, I noticed that the full moon would occur again in a couple of weeks. I grumbled since we just experienced the new moon and for 2 nights no one in my household got any decent sleep.

For a few years I have noticed a correlation between the nights that I suffer insomnia and a full or new moon. Normally, I have sleepless nights for all 3 nights (the night before, the night of, and the night after) of the particular time on the lunar cycle. When I first connected the dots, I thought of different possibilities like is the light from the full moon shining into my room at night? It doesn't, but that wouldn't explain why I am awake during the nights of the new moon.

For a while, I just thought it sounded cool to blame my insomnia on the "damned full or new moon". Then I realized that if it was possible for the full moon to bring out the crazies or to induce crazy, busy nights at hospitals (totally true from personal experience), then the energy must be affecting my sleep cycle.

Recently, I read an article about this very subject. This article mentioned that if the moon phases affect your sleep, then you are intuitive. I have spent the last 5 days trying to find this article so that I may share it with you. Unfortunately, I was u successful. So if and when I cross paths with it again I will share it.

Thank you for patiently reading my rantings. 😊 - Gypsy Cat
